Job Description:
Labcorp is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pre-Authorization Specialist to join its remote finance team. You'll play a vital role in ensuring insurance approvals and accurate patient billing, helping support life-changing healthcare breakthroughs. This full-time, work-from-home role is perfect for someone with prior insurance, billing, or pre-auth experience in the healthcare space.
Responsibilities
- Review medical policies via payer portals or Policy Reporter
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage with health plans
- Deliver accurate patient cost estimates
- Initiate and track prior authorizations
- Manage communication with patients, providers, and payers
- Document all activities in the pre-auth platform
- Request and follow up on missing information
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and volume
- Provide timely updates on authorization status
- Perform other duties as needed

Qualification
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance claims, pre-authorization, or medical benefits
- Prior Labcorp RCM experience (LCLS or LCBS) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Clear verbal and written communication abilities
- Basic math proficiency (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
